Resource scaling on npcs

This is just a gut feeling for me and I am happy to be corrected.
I think npc resource scaling is a bit broken.
From what I understand npcs get more level scaling according to difficulty and an additional resource scaling which makes some fairly weak player classes into killer npcs. Notably mana and vim classes.
There is also at least one talent. Emergency steam purge. Which is a turn 1 instant kill even with good life rating and gear.
I think that if npcs resources were more in line with what players have (but scaled according to their levels) we would have a better idea of how weak necros for example are.
The mana burning egos in items can also be looked at fairly after that.
Either that or rescale that steam purge it's honestly game breaking enough for me to turn off embers dlc.
