Metal items for gem extracting - can this include tools?

I notice that all metal armor, weapons and ammo can be extracted with enough Stone Alchemy: Extract Gems. Would it be possible to also include other items series that start with iron as tier 1? (For example torques.) Not sure if there are any lights that are made of metal, but I know some tools are.
If you can get gems out of some steel shot, then you should be able to get it out of a metal torque.
