A quick look at Lightning and Storm

So I'm well aware of the strength of AM at the moment but I fully believe that Lightning and Storm could take a good looking at.
The trees function rather well and have good synergy (though the dependence on daze effects can be somewhat frustrating) but unfortunately the mana costs for the sustains is well above reasonable given the obvious alternatives. Wildfire/Aether offer just as much if not more utility with heavy shielding and debuff/sustain cleansing while having significantly more reliable damage and much, much lower sustain costs.
Personally would absolutely love to run a lightning/ice AM at some point but every time I do I'm caught leaning into Fire/Arcane/etc. if for no other reason than base functionality and utility.
Anyhow I do believe that the sustain costs are the primary issue with Lightning and Storm and perhaps touching those up a bit would go a long way to making those trees a bit more viable compared to the other much more popular builds.
