Please can we have the option when in a store to sell all gems at once? Going down a long list of drag-accept-sell interactions is quite tedious.

really? they already stack, so its not like you are selling 1 gem at a time.
also, they weight nothing, so you should only need to sell them if you are actually having an eye on some special item.

then there are juwelers who can imbue rings and amulet's with gems.
forgetting to turn it off, after you get the very specific gem you want to use, can be rather painful, and it may never drop again sooooo... i do not think i would be very popular options.

Also, alternatively, you can leave the shop, 'd'rop all the gems that you don't need (which is very fast), and transmog them all at once wih the transmog chest. (And it also gives energy to fortress)...

Perhaps I didn't explain myself very well - I'm thinking of a button, not an automatic action.

I appreciate the suggestion, but dropping gems is not very fast without a mouse.

My UI suggestion would be for the game to add a checkbox multi-select way to sell (or transmog) a lot of things at once.

Basically a button which takes you to a screen like the leaving-a-level screen which shows all your gear, and shows which ones are selected for transmog (or sale).

Just FYI, gems don't get put in the transmog chest on pick-up.

hmm... sounds like something "dungeonmans" have.
DFuxa started a series on it little over a weak ago and still going.

well, in ToME, you cannot sell or transmog items you yourself have named, but i don't think it works for gems.
and there is no "auto sell all", for items that are not in a trasmo chest.

so gems are really the only things that it would concern, as they are the only non-plot items that bypass transmo chest.

they are weightless, so you don't, until you actually have something to buy.

i mean, you are not going to tell me you sell all of them every time you visit a shop, are you?

If your transmog chest is empty and that you 'u'se it, you can transmog instantly all the items that you are standing on.

I even made a topic about this. A checkbox to select multiple items or a windows 7 - esque drag and highlight would work wonders for inventory management. I hate selecting each individual item especially when you max strength and have a bunch of crap. Transmog only does so much.

what exactly does windows 7 have that no other system have on the subject?

also, i am not sure that a "drag and highlight" would work well, when you can already drag and drop individual items, without having much space in between. on the pulpit, there is usually good 10-20 pixels in between each icon. but with tome, its 1 or 2 pixels.
it might be a pain to do, without dragging individual item instead.

I meant being able to highlight multiple objects in your inventory. It's something not just windows 7 did though..I got that wrong I was just trying to describe it.
