auto equip at start

some time ago i have ran into an interesting problem.
not sure if its vanilla or mod but there is an option "disable auto assign at start".
problem comes with talents like 'corrupted streangth' or 'armour training 2'.
certain items require those talents to be equipped in specific slots, or at all.

for the reaver i once made, it meant that you start with only one weapon.

it would not be a problem, if the items were first placed in the inventory, and then auto equipped as soon as the lvlup window is closed.
it would also solve the adventurer's problem of starting naked.
If the auto-equip prioritised items for which you have the most stats, it would also make it rather accurate, with talents like corrupted streangth overriding it to disable dagger or mind star auto equip.
