Class Idea: Melee Necromancer (Deathlord, whatever...)

A rough class outline:
So, I was thinking of a melee necromancer guy. They'd have the minion related necromancy trees (none of the direct damage stuff), and a basic melee tree or two. I'm leaning towards two handers.
Then, I wanted to introduce a new "necrosis" resource, which goes from 0% to 100%. They'd get a solipsist style tree where each talent gives some sort of passive bonus, scaling with current necrosis level. Stuff like +% darkness/cold damage, extra crit power, probably some res all, etc. (I'd probably try to make this tree not specifically beneficial for melee.) The first point in each talent will increase your minimum necrosis level by 10%. (Or maybe they'd be better just being sustains?)
They'd also have a tree with powerful melee attacks and strong, short term buffs which increase your necrosis level on use. You can use them even if it'd push you over 100% necrosis, and it'll just cap at 100%.
The downside of necrosis is how you recover it. Except for a few specifically marked undead-type talents (retch, etc.), all healing you receive is reduced by your necrosis level, and is redirected towards reducing it (probably by an amount proportional to your max life). So if you're at 50% necrosis, and get healed for 200, you end up with 100 healing, and say you're now at 40% necrosis.
I'm not sure how they'd interact with the undead races. I'd probably just bar them outright unless some cool interactions are thought of.
