Siding With "Bad" Guys

Two main instances come to mind: Krogar, right after you get to the east, and Tannen, once you conquer his tower. In both of these cases, whenever I get here I want to be able to go side with them if I choose to. With Krogar it's especially blatant, since both him and Fillarel tell you to help them, but there is only one option: helping Fillarel. (Who I usually kill afterwards for loot and justice.) As for Tannen, before I read the demon note I actually liked the guy. I wanted to know where exactly he was getting his bodies (grave robbing is shady, but acceptable. Bandits I've killed by the hundred, so no complaints there. Townsfolk? Okay, too far.), but assuming he was reasonable in his procuring of supplies, I'd gladly work with him to help against the demons.
Really, these are just two big cases where there seems like there should be a choice, and we aren't given one. While siding with Krogar would change nearly everything after arriving at the East and would obviously require massive amounts of work to get done, how hard would it be to let us side with Tannen? Have it be something like with the Grand Corruptor, so you can't just side with him to dodge the fight (perhaps you have to kill the Drolem and then he'll be willing to work with you) but that wouldn't alter a ton about the game. It'd be mostly dialogue changes, to reflect who's actually helping you, as well as possibly a quest about sabotaging the demon's new portal toys.
As a note, though, I really do like how you're given the options of siding with the Grand Corruptor and Slasul. I just want more of that. (And a way to avoid hurting Slasul, because every damn time some AoE I didn't even realize was happening hurts him and there goes my trident.)
