Fearless cleave(2nd ability new 2h tree) targetting

Currently it targets the closest foe by default but has no effect if they are 2 tiles away. You have to manually move targetting cursor on nearby tile and hit the foe. Why not just use it the same way rush targets - directly on the creature, not near it?

I also found the targeting weird. It acts like a range two talent but targets like it has a range of melee.

I find this style more convenient than Rush targeting. Let's say you're positioned like this:

Code: Select all

x.x.
...
.@.
You're @ and the enemies are x. Rush targeting would by default target one of the two x's, and hit only one of them. With the current system, all you do is hit the button for Fearless Cleave, then tap north. Bam, you hit both targets.

but i don't use melee targetting. hmm maybe i should turn it on while playing 2-handers. and cases you depicted happen like 100 times less often than 1v1 bumps especially with sun paladin light path that takes no time to spep away then hit.

melee targetting works really well with this ability indeed. since the main reason i don't use it is that i prefer to see creature's stats before i'm casting an ability on it. so initial proposal is still viable with melee targetting disabled.

I remember I specifically asked DG to remove autotarget for this skill, so you wouldn't automatically hit a single adjacent enemy when there was another one one step away that you wanted to hit.
