Exposed to the void of space expansion.

Add this flag to the special farportal zone, and to the special fearscape location that refusing to give the orb to Tannen gives you. This means that non-archmages trying for the prodigy have at least 1 guaranteed location, though they have to give up Telos Tower to get it. It also means anyone could try for the special farportal, and theoretically get it there. Currently, if you don't get the archmage start (due to racial starts) you end up having to luck out and find a fearscape invasion portal, which sometimes (often) doesn't spawn at all.
Thoughts?

Those sound good, especially since I personally have NEVER found a Fearscape Invasion Portal.

For that matter, is it reasonable that archmages who start elsewhere (like yeeks, undead, draconian, mardrop, star elf, etc.) to be able to undertake the starter quest at angolwen when they get there later? Or undertake it if they reach it prior to level X (14 sounds nice, which would tie it in with the same timeline as the derth town quest)?

Well it would be a bit wierd to entrust such an important task to some random adventurer.

I have no idea why anyone besides a Higher Archmage would even want the prodigy, in fact, Aether Permeation is so bad that it's not even good on Higher Archmages with 5/5 in Born Into Magic compared to useful defensive prodigies like Cauterize. Anyway, this isn't a bigger deal than the randomness of the requirements for other prodigies like Revisionist History and Meteoric Crash. I feel like this bit of randomness is acceptable and there's no need make sure every character can get this prodigy.

Except that very vital candidates for it (Arcane draconians come to mind) miss out. And a change that's entirely behind the scenes shouldn't be a problem to do.

Except Draconians are an add-on race, right? Wouldn't concerns about them best be handled in the appropriate add-on, rather than the main game?
Also considering, if any old archmage could do their starting area, there'd be similar demands for the chronomancer and celestial starter zones

Meteoric Crash is actually guaranteed: Vor knows the prodigy and will happily demonstrate it for you.

I'd definitely like to say that I support the idea of making Aether Permeation more accessible (and better) in general. And I like the idea of making Archmage starting quest accessible to all Archmages.

Eh, they have a point about the arcmage quest thing. It just would've been a simpler way to solve the problem.
As for draconian being an addon race, it's only an example, hardly the only one. Yeeks and undead might well want some better resistance, and being denied (despite being an archmage) because they don't find a fearscape invasion portal seems weird and against the method of a game that encourages planning. It's like saying 'hey, you only get this prodigy if you get the right escort', while the rest of the game builds to the point that escorts are supposed to be completely optional to any build.
I dunno, I didn't think asking for 'void of space' to count on the other special fearscape place and the farportal place was that off, since both make sense and the change wouldn't harm anything for anyone.

Worth noting that NullTweaks makes a fairly major change to the Arcane's first talent, that makes it a viable build for many other races.
