I think it would be great to make it possible getting lower difficulty achievements along with higher ones. Personally I dont want to play on normal anymore as Im trying to beat the game on nightmare, so getting all the normal difficulty steam achievements seems pretty pointless.

So... You want earning achievement x on any difficulty to get you the same achievement on every lower difficulty, too?

I don't see why not. Going over every (relevant) combination of difficulties is just time-consuming and a little pointless. The game might be fun, but that many repeats would be pushing it.

I'm a fan of it.

Huh, I thought one main point of Achievements was to reward pointless grinding.

An alternative solution is to just not care about getting every Achievement.

Or maybe acknowledge that higher difficulty achievements are harder to gain thus overriding the lower ones.

In many other games that favors achievements by difficulty, you automatically get lower ones if you complete them on higher difficulty. And with the number of achievements in ToME on Steam, paired with difficulty of nightmare and higher, I really dont think I will ever have the time to hunt the lower versions of them ever again

I'm fine with this idea.

So, is this possible or not ?

This sounds like a really good idea to me; I'm fully in favour of it.
