offer notice when stores are updated

One way to do this would be to have a dialogue box pop up which says, "Hey, @, the stores are updated."

A cooler way would be to generate little wagon figures on the land map which spawn every 20 turns at every town and travel to another town (with restrictions--hostile towns don't trade). Stop the spawning when the player has had visibility of at least 10 of these wagons. The wagons would travel just like sand tunnel diggers--they just head where they're going, and switch places with the player if bumped into. When moused over, it simply says "Wagon carrying merchandise." Maybe for color roving adventurer parties could destroy them.

Not really important, and would have absolutely no effect besides giving notice, but could be fun.

I doubt we'll get the flavor option, and just 'hey @, the stores have restocked' would break immersion to have. However, an in-flavor notification might be feasible. I do notice a lot of folks ask in chat 'do stores ever get restocked/get new stuff/lose what they have/etc?' and an in-game message that doesn't break immersion might work. Perhaps, upon triggering, the next town you enter (that has stores) would trip a message about "You notice an unusual amount of activity going on in the marketplace. It appears new merchandise has arrived!". There are only 2 occurrences in the game where this would occur, both of which could theoretically be tied to quests. (The quest update related to The Ambush, and the Quest Updated related to Re-Entering the West.)

Shouldn't be horribly difficult to get something like THAT added in.
