1) It fits description
2) It benefits the fire beam
3) That creates interesting category point investment option for archmages\arcane blades

And/Or make firebeam half light half fire damage

Hey, a reason for people to pick up the tree, rather than just a free chant. (Since all the game's light damage characters start with the tree.)

I approve of this idea.

Basically why I offer this, for celestials that's almost not noticeable change, but it will create an interesting choice for alchemists, archmages, arcane blades and magic heavy summoners. Even some weird wyrmics may chose that route

This could be bad for players trying to proc the bonuses from the elemental damage prodigies. My memory says the damage must be >200. And if you cut the damage in half, this is much harder.

I don't think Pallies/Anorithils get that...

Anorithils do get light/dark penetration.
But not much.
