Smoke or Digging?

Hi again, two more ideas;
A) Do we have any way to "distort line of sight"?
I mean - like a "smoke grenade"? I know we have blindness - I'm thinking more of a "cloud" of smoke - lingering for some turns in a limited area. Would perhaps encourage more stealthy game play.

B) Can we "dig fast and/or long"?
I mean like "stone to mud"-thing I remember from another rougelike. It would be cool to be able to alter dungeon layout
*quickly* to open up more tactics/ paths etc.
Low lever: 1 turn to clear 1 stone. Power-lever: stone-to-mud BEAM for 2-XX blocks!
To powerful? Balance it accordingly.

Doomed has a "cloud of smoke" and archmage has a beam damage spell that also digs in 1 turn.

Rogues and Alchemists get smoke bombs of their own as well (in Traps and Fire Alchemy, respectively).

As for digging, there's the Stone spell Pulverizing Auger (available to Archmages, Stone Wardens, and Arcane Blades) and the Sand-Drake gift Burrow (which combos nicely with its prerequisite, Quake; both are available to Wyrmics).

You know, it's some kind of statement on how high powered ToME is, that the Dig spell-which was a stone-to-mud beam-finally hit generally useful balance when it became a damaging beam too.

(Auger's a really good spell, and it's very valid for use outside of the Earth/Stone centric build. But I wouldn't call it overpowered.)

Ah - explains it, not played Rouge, Alchemist or Doomed yet... so much still to explore.
