Is there any particular reason why these traps still exist after the mass-trap removal? They aren't very interesting or tactically relevant, just annoyances while exploring, and they should be removed in line with the rest of the traps.

AFAIK, the reason for removal of traps from most maps is [almost] guaranteed triggering with autoexplore. LN and Yeek caves are designed with manual bubble-walking in mind, so this argument is invalid for them.

though quite a few people do Lake Nur with water breathing where using auto-explore is quite reasonable.

Also this doesn't explain why they are still prevalent in Nur 3.
