Character retraining

it would be nice, specially for 'newer' players, to be able to go somewhere (Shar'tol?) and pay a tax to get all non-permanent stat points/class points/Genetic points reversed and redistributable (say ... if you have 5/5 Armor training before, you still have 3/5, and the minimum needed ammount of str for that, not accounting for gear)

Some way of respeccing would be nice, although it would probably be better as an addon since full respeccing is probably not meant to be an option in game, since it would make heavy investment carry little risk.

A reasonable compromise would be to allow full respecing including stats in the infinite lives mode. I think the two ideas appeal to the same group.

Full respec at will in Exploration, 250 energy cost full respec at the Fortress for Adventure, no full respec on Roguelike (Though you can still juggle points as usual)...
Hmmm. Sounds good I think.

Spending energy and or gold to take a point out seems great, because it's not at will. The only points I really want to respecify are prodigies though, nothing like getting the stats/items for a better prodigy but being stuck with an old one.

I feel that the current respecing in the game is sufficent - although I also feel it should be a birth option.
