Water Siphons/Spider Nets

Are these indespensable for their respective areas? Most they've done to me is make auto-explore super annoying, and the water jets even pervade some areas they have no business being in (Nur 3, Briagh's Lair etc). Enviromental dangers is a good thing, but minor things such as these never truly put the player in danger and spams the message bar.
