These things annoy me as they keep ending up in my inventory and are useless... The only situation where you'd want to pick them up is if you're an alchemist that kills adventurer alchemists. So let them manually pick them up and allow the rest of us to keep our inventories clean.

I don't think even an alchemist would want them. Aren't they always agates?

I think an old suggestion was to let them be mogged, actually. Something cheap (.005 gold per tier or something -- so you're always losing some gold if you decide to alchie gem), but there.
