Final Battle Suggestion. (Spoilers, obviously.)

At the final Battle, assuming Areyn is still alive, she shows up to help you save the world. Why Areyn? A lot of factions don't want the world to be destroyed yet! There are many to whom, if you explained things, would DELIGHTEDLY send you aid. And with an established farportal network, those in the west could easily come east! How about allowing Angolwen friendly characters to go to the final battle with Linaniil at there side, instead of Areyn? Twould be epic indeed to fight beside Linaniil of the Kar'Krul! And she would certainly want to stop the misuse of magic on high peak, after the tragedy of the spellblaze!
For other characters, Zigur would no doubt want to 'preserve the natural order of the world', but to horribly destroy the most vile of mages at the top of high peak. Perhaps Zigurist friendlies would be able to drag Myssil (possibly buffed? Not sure she's up to it ATM, but haven't seen her in a long time either) or some other high-ranking Zigurist, instead of Areyn.
Although, lets be honest here. Linaniil is the important one. What could be more incredibly earth-shaking then marching into battle with Linaniil at side! Please Darkgod, give Linaniil a(nother) moment to truly shine!

I have suggested this already in chat more than once
Also, if you're a Dwarf, the Iron Council might as well send some help...maybe if Norgan survived he'd lead these reinforcements

And all those lumberjacks you saved from ben! Im sure they dont want the world to end!!!!!!
Why cant I just fly my fortress over to high peak and nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
On a serious note though, I bet Zemekkys past/present/or future self would probably want to help out on this. Letting that gate open might just have some pretty serious effects on the timeline just like the spellblaze did.

Zemekyss Wouldn't get involved, You already won without his help, or were supposed to have died and failed.

Unless you won with the help with Zemekyss which meant he was always going to help you. It kinda would make that first meeting with him where he remember you a little more interesting.

But then it would be logically impossible for you to lose the final fight at all!

Obviously everyone you save should have an epic battle with you at the end against the enemies of the end of the world.
Duh.
Tons of more exciting.

Despite the ridiculously rough fight I just had (that would've been so much cooler with a redheaded Kar'Krul) I vote for this, so long as balance is kept in play. It does't make sense that a loyal archmage born in angolwen would keep his own crowd ignorant of events, or that noone else would want to help save the world. I still think it would be BETTER to just have one helper (or helper group perhaps, in the case of the iron throne? Norgan and a few dwarves, but all toned down a bit compared to Areyn, Linaniil and others?) per attempt, chosen in advance (or even randomly chosen) based off a list you qualify for. Require Angolwen friendliness for Linaniil, Zigur follower for that group, Norgan surviving for aid from the Iron throne, Side with the Corruptor to destroy Zigur to get the Grand Corruptor and some minions... There's certainly potential here, and each of these groups would want, for one reason or the other, to protect the world from total destruction, even if some might want to remake it themselves later (Corruptor comes to mind)
Even WITH a difficulty bump, as long as it's balanced, allowing a helper OTHER then Areyn would be a godsend, just for variety! (And, again, the awesomeness of Linaniil!)

I wouldn't want to have to rely on multiple AI NPCs not acting stupid instead of just Aeryn not acting stupid :p
having a choice of whom to bring would be fun though
although right now there's a huge plot hole in the form of "how did Aeryn get to the top of High Peak in the first place"

She followed the trail of bodies, assuming you'd be near the end of them, one way or another...

Does that mean she also has an orb of many ways, considering that's what you use to enter the last fight?
You could introduce an item that opens up a portal or acts as a summoning thing. Then when you enter the last battle you get a popup and choose a friendly faction to use it on.
