Shorten duration of Victory Rush

I just accidentally antagonized the Grand Corrupter and his allies during the Zigur battle (I think someone wandered in front of a projectile), and was left having to fight them during 20 turns of invulnerability. It was not fun.

What does this have to do with the duration of the buff? That would just make it HARDER to win, would it not? If anything, based on your description of events, I would think you would be TRYING to get it to be longer, not shorter.
