Like, say, have all fire related equipment add a point to a fire set bonus. Then, if you have two points, you get a small fire resistance bonus from all pieces of equipment(Maybe something like 2%+1% fire resistance cap per piece), and if you have four, you get a small global speed(a bonus associated with fire elsewhere) bonus on each fire equip.

It's an interesting idea for down the line, anyways.

there are already a handful of artifact sets.

Also, there are mindstar sets as well. Certain egos on mindstars can be combined to make a set.

I meant armor sets (head, armor, gloves, belt and boots), with bonuses for 2-5 items worn together (pretty close to how it's done in WoW).

We've already got those. For example, wielding Moon in one hand and Star in the other gives you +10% dark and light damage and gives the daggers a chance to confuse and blind (respectively) those struck by them.

Anything more than 2 makes it extremely unlikely that you'll ever assemble the set when you actually want it.

I smell an opportunity for a dwarf smith with attitude and a really epic quest to help you complete a set.
