Update feature?

Forgive me if there is an update feature but due to my own stupidity have managed to avoid it entirely.
Updates are being released frequently for Tome which is great: bug fixes, more balanced classes and attacks... However, we seem to need to download the game over and over again from scratch if we want an updated version. Wouldn't it be easier and quicker to have an update feature available?
I've noticed that not many roguelikes actually have update features. Maybe it's something to do with the genre, I don't know, but I think an update feature would be quite a worthwhile investment especially with all these frequent updates.
