Change antimagic staff scaling?

As title. Sometimes staves can be powered by arcane disrupting forces. The obvious thing to do, t'me, is to have it change so it no longer scales off magic in those cases. Willpower would be obvious, but perhaps have it change based on power sources, as well. Strength for master, willpower/cunning mix for psionic, extra willpower scale for nature?

If antimagic, change the spellpower to mindpower, spellcrit to mindcrit, and the Magic scaling to Willpower...

Well, that certainly would make the AM Rare staffs vaguely useful and more interesting, if not precisely good.

Could make Arcane Mindstars do the same thing in reverse, too.

Except in the case of artifacts I think scaling should stick to magic, and staves shouldn't ever be powered by anti-magic.

(A staff that changes it's scaling depending on the wielder would be cool, go go artifact designers!)

I'd rather see features added than taken away, m'self, especially in cases like this where it doesn't come up very often and doesn't have any major impact. Just something neat, y'know? Doesn't seem anything special about a length of wood that would make it explode or whatev' when someone sticks some slime generation in it or suchlike.

Though it'd be easier to code just removing the possibility of AM sticks, yeah. That's boring, though :(

I dunno. In the impact ratio, I think it's lamer to find a cool rare antimagic staff as a magical staff user than it is exciting to find the same staff as any class that could reasonably use it. I kind of wimp out on weird builds, though. I also think Mindstars are a better and more rational candidate for diversified/adaptive scaling, given their nature (haha, a pun). Something like half power from will, half from your highest stat or something. ALSO: we need a two-handed mindstar artifact. Call it "Bill's Pet Rock".

Given the description of the Magic stat, being good with magic should make you pretty good with antimagic too. Magic is a good source of spell save.
I see no problem with antimagic staves using Magic.

I dunno, that's kind of like saying corruptors should be close to nature. It's true in a sense, but it doesn't mean corruptors are wilders. It's also more of a gameplay kerfuffle than a lore problem.

Corrupters SHOULD be close to nature! Otherwise they wouldn't be able to corrupt it properly ;)

Corruptors are so close to nature that nature gets uncomfortable and files a restraining order.

Knowing about and being close to, aren't the same thing.
