About the leveling system of Nightmare

For now, the zone level of nightmare mode is x1.2+10, and I suggect to change this to x1.5+5.
The reason is that the +10 term make nightmare mode almost same hard as the insane mode when you just start your character.

As my experience, the hardest part of insane mode is how to defeat the first boss.
This task is almost impossible for the melee players, because most of the time they will killed by the bees or snakes(unless they kill some farmers first).
Also under this +10 condition, no dwarfs can flee out their first maze unless they are a strong spell user(archmage, necromancer).

I know people made it past the first dungeon on insane, so I dunno why nightmare, which is easier, is a problem. If this is an issue at all, I'd suggest keeping the 1.2x + 10 formula but making the first dungeon a +5.

Past the first dungeon is not impossible, but just really really hard for some races.
You will know if you tried undead and dwarf with non spell user class.
Other normal first dungeons are fine.

And also the point I want to make here is that nightmare actually inherit the hardest point from insane, which makes it still insanely hard(but easier then insane due to the lowered talent level).
