One feature I'd like to see is an option to stop the lore from auto-opening on pick up.

As good as the lore in-game is, once you reach the point where you've seen everything a couple dozen times, it starts to get a bit annoying every time it pops up. Also, at least on my machine (macbook), the lore opens pretty slowly, stopping gameplay for several seconds each time and breaking up the flow of the game.

If you use the library device in the fortress, it will add all lore you have ever seen to the already seen for character list.
That stops repeat lore turning up from then on.
Alas, you would have already gone past 90% of the lore you are fed up with by then. :/
