Start in town instead of in a dungeon

I always have found it a little strange that you start in a dungeon rather than in a town, seeing as you get the choice to do the first tier dungeons in any order. For instance, when I play Shaloren, I regularly put off the Scintillating Caves for later. It's kind of odd for my first action in the game to be "turn around and leave," plus it means that the first level of that dungeon will have level 1 monsters and no rares no matter when I go back to it. It'll be even odder once the next beta comes out and every first tier dungeon except the first two gets trimmed to one floor.

Basically, I'd like characters to just start the game in Derth/Shatur/Elvala, as appropriate (Dwarves and Undeads would still start in their respective dungeons, for obvious reasons), letting the player pick which dungeon to visit first.

The idea is to have you right in the action from the start. No fiddling about. The towns in ToME4 are fairly light on content, and partly that's due to the focus on combat in the game.

Tome 2 started this way and when I was new to Tome 2 I felt a lot more confused then I did when I was new to Tome 4.

The fact that you start in a dungeon gives (especially new) players a direct goal.

All that said, I'm sure it would be easy to make an add-on changing where players start. So if you want it as an option there's nothing stopping you from making it one and sharing it with other players :)
