Should Cleansing Flames cleanse the player?

I finally played an archmage and used Wildfire talent tree.

After studying all the options, I thought cleansing flames looked amazing for removing bad effects on the player.

But AFACT it has no effect on the player, just everyone else.

I deliberately caught diseases in dreadfell, then burning wak all over the floor, and I could never once get the disease to be shrugged off.

So, either I've had terribly bad luck, or this is intended. Could the description be modified to make this clearer, or even betterm should this apply to the player as well, or would that be too powerful?

I mean, it's not like archmages are very powerful now.... :? (just joking - they are massively over powerful, so why not make them even better.... :D )

You had spellcraft, it prevents your AOEs from hitting you, so your fire is not hitting you, so you dot get cleansed :) Choose between the two (or turn off spellcraft when you need fast cleansing)

And yet your highest archamge is level 26, in adventure mode, died 8 times and used the no rares and no traps addon. Color me impressed by their awesome oveerpoweredness ! :)

The archmage class is nicely done. It certainly has weaknesses, especially if you don't have the specialty trees (fire/ice/etc.) unlocked.
(In particular, the class is fragile once shields drop, and more focused on dealing damage than locking opponents down with status effects.)
It might be nice to add a note to cleansing fires that spellcraft may prevent it from operating.
