Mitigating sound fx spam

This may be a stupid or nit-picky topic, and I don't know if it's doable but....

So I've always found the sun paladin to be kind of an annoying class to play, what with the tedium in managing positive energy and all. But after seeing a suggestion to put spells like healing light on auto-cast, I gave it another go and that's just made all the difference. Actually really enjoying the class now. The only drawback--that constant healing light sound effect is driving me nuts. When resting or auto-exploring, it rapid fires obnoxiously. And then I started thinking of other sounds that were fine occasionally, but in rapid succession were really annoying.

The obvious answer is to either mute the sound altogether or just suck it up and deal, I realize. Or, I have gone in and edited out certain talent sounds in the code in the past. But I'm wondering if it would be possible to implement another solution, like selectively disabling sounds under certain conditions, like if a talent is on auto-cast for instance. Or if anyone has a better idea....

So yeah, a low-priority suggestion. But has anyone else found this sort of thing annoying?
