One of the big problems, I think, is that while unlocks are tied to your account, the unlock progress is not...each machine store separate reaver/cryo/pyro unlock and can be pretty troublesome if you need to switch between machines often...

Can't we just store it in the account info or something?

Seems like there would be a logistic issue here, unless you only play online. Otherwise progress would inevitably be lost/doubled up (most likely the former).

Those unlocks are particularly dull, anyway, which is why I've suggested (and someone else expanded upon) the idea of alternative unlock methods.
