Turn off Step Up

It's useful in certain situations. But a lot of the time, it can just be a pain.
I kill an enemy while pinned. I've now got to hit the rest key until Step Up wears off, because Pinned won't go away until my turn speed is back to normal.
Or I'm trying to use a light source to brighten the area, but it's not recharging, because I'm stuck in Step Up mode for a while.
I want to just be able to click something to go back to "real time".

oh yeh, like double right click on the effect cancels it or something?

Could make it a 0-cost Sustain that can't be removed by enemy attacks(I think some effects do that)? Just remember to turn it on(if you want) again after death...

Ironically, I often use the Summertide activation to
get out of Step Up early. Assuming I'm wearing it.

Step up + Confusion made me almost quit playing. besides that I really like the talent. Is slowdown with confusion only on slow computers? i think i still get it with stealth.

Only oddity I've noticed with Confusion is that when it scrambles your controls, any movement that would move you into a wall is just canceled and doesn't take a turn. Probably not intended.

DEFINETELY intended I think. Or at least, a known side-effect of bumping no longer taking a turn.
Simply ignoring keypresses is annoying though - I think I did suggest making it pick another passable direction instead.

I dunno. Any time I've played roguelike with confusion, bumping into walls would take a turn. The current behavior is super confusing, it makes the game seem like its soft-frozen or something.

Oi! This is about Step Up, not confusion. :p

But if you have both effects at the same time, the annoyance is multiplied. You need to press a direction key 10 times to move once when you're confused, and you need to move 10 times to burn off Step Up, so you end up whacking the arrow key a hundred friggin' times.
That's the point.

Can't you just wait in place?

Yes, but that can be dangerous. If you just rest on 5, then you can rest too long, and end up dead by passing turns faster than you can react, and something coming out and killing you.

Well, don't hold down 5, then! You can tap it just like you can tap a directional button; I don't understand why it'd be more dangerous.
