Ego staves should do an 'appropriate' damage type

Not a huge thing but:
I think it would be nice if magma staves did fire damage, naturalist staves nature, acidic staves acid(duh) and so on.
In cases where more than one element is applicable(such as double egoes or say, infernal, which raises both blight and fire damage), it could pick randomly or go with the more important ego.
This would just 'make sense' to me and ensure there are no silly things like a magma staff which does cold damage

Agreed! I also found that odd. Though some of the combinations were funny.
We need some rare damage types, too, like temporal, mind, and physical. More staff utility in general.

Yeah, temporal(duh) and chronomancer staves should do temporal damage.
Not sure about mind, especially as +% mind damage would be...not very useful, overall.
As for physical - there is one artifact staves that does that. Perhaps there could be a rare ego staff that does that with knockback(call it 'of force'perhaps)? It's not the most magical element but yeah, having it available for staves(though rarer)could be interesting.

Staff of null magic -- sets damage type to physical, scales 120% with strength, zeros any +SP. Activates for aura of silence. Powered by anti-magic. Let the good times roll.
