More love for everything (other than Mana and Stamina)

Corrupters, Psionics, Chronomancers, Celestials, and (sort of) Afflicted and Wilder classes do not have any equipment that boosts their resources, while mages, archers, rogues, and fighters have a quite large selection. I think that we should make some + Psi, Vim, (+/-) energy, and Hate (in addition to the curse) capacity, and Paradox and Equilibrium fail rate equipment. Still need to come up with specific egos, but does anyone have thoughts on this first?

No opinion really on the rest but willpower gear all ready effects paradox and equilibrium failure chances. More stuff that lowered paradox or equilibrium on use might be alright though (like Rune of the Rift does for paradox). Hats of meditation and staves of static history for instance ;)

Willpower also affects mana, and there are still +mana specific items. I'm fine with the items being on use (or anything else) instead of a direct effect on fail rate, and those look like they could work.

Vim is also effected by willpower; the higher your will the more vim you recover from kills. Also, Vox raises your Vim and Mana totals by 50.

Here's an idea for other resources.

How about egos that reduce sustain cost by X%. For instance.

of The Grand Corruptor - Reduces the vim cost of sustaining corruptions by 5 -10%.

of Nature's Balance - Reduces the equil cost of sustaining wild gifts by 5-10%

of the Heavens - Reduces the positive and negative cost of sustaining celestial spells by 5 - 10%

of Temporal Mastery - Reduces the paradox cost of sustaining chronomancy spells by 5 - 10%

of Mental Focus - Reduces the psi cost of sustaining psionic powers by 5-10%

For lesser egos just leave them as they are. If we wanted them to be greater egos they should probably tack on an appropriate secondary effect (spellpower, mindpower, + appropriate damage, willpower, or something of the sort).

Something like this should probably cap at 50% no matter how many of said ego you wear (assuming it's available in more then one equipment slot).

I know that Vim (and Psi, and Equilibrium, and Paradox) are affected by Willpower. Mana and Stamina are as well, and they have additional boosts from equipment. For example, a piece of equipment that gives +5 willpower and +40 mana would give +65 to mana in total. I think that the game would be improved by adding more diverse ego affixes, so you can find (for example) an item that gives +15 psi. It would only be useful to mindslayers, but the +mana and +stamina ones are only useful to some classes, so I don't see it as a big problem.

I was looking for a much simpler solution than this, but it could work as well.

Simple gets old though and if the goal is to give more resources to everyone then the egos should probably just be merged into a single Energy stat that affects each resource differently (similar to how leech works).

I agree that just willpower is not enough. willpower gives a very tiny bonus compared to the fairly hefty MP bonuses that even low-tier MP bonus equipment can grant.

Merging does seem like it might be a good idea, though I'd worry that that would be unintuitive for new players. It'd have to behave very differently for each, after all -- MP / stamina regen is acceptable at a much higher rate than regenerating most other resources (and regenerating Vim or Hate at all would drastically change them.)

On the other hand, what about a +% resources bonus from willpower? That's relatively intuitive, and would affect all stats in an appropriate fashion.

Or maybe just a +X effective willpower for resource calculations only. It could be a much larger number than you usually get for willpower bonuses -- around +10 for even relatively weak equipment would match what some MP bonuses approach.

A related issue, Black Robe/Eelskin armour/flamewrought only trigger on "spells", leaving many casters (Doomed, some Wyrmics, Mindslayers, possibly others) without their (huge) benefits.

I agree that the good loot is too spread out for many classes. I like the idea of a "effective Willpower for resources" or "energy", even if it is split into "natural energy" (Stamina, Equilibrium, Hate, Psi), and "magical energy" (Mana, Pos/Neg, Vim, Paradox), as it would make equipment more useful for more classes without too much clutter.
