If the "escort doesn't show up first time into level" bug hasn't been permanently solved for b29, could a "level feel" message/emote be spawned whenever an escort is supposed to show up on a level? As an emote/"chat bubble", the chat bubble could be adjacent to the entrance and be something like "Hello? Hello?! Is there anybody out there?! I seem to be quite lost and would appreciate some assistance!" Level feel message could be something like a "You sense the nearby presence of a lost, kindred spirit."

I myself much prefer the chat bubble one, as it fits in with them being blithering, incompetent fools. Yelling like that somewhere with lots of monsters about.
