Richer Character Screen

A list of stuff that could be done to better the character screen:
  • Effects of resources - ie. Spell Failures for Equilibrium, Chronomancy backfires/anomalies
  • Breakdown tooltips* for Resists, accuracy, damage, criticals, armour, defense
  • Current light radius and which items stacks
  • Current infravision radius, and it's effective light radius
  • see invisible power
  • invisibility power
  • stealth power
  • Any other suggestions? I'll edit the thread to show it, and remove stuff from it that is implemented
*: A breakdown tooltip is a breakdown of (Items^, Skills^^, Stats^^^, Difficulty) that are affecting the displayed figure.
^: Show the list of the equipment names (preferably) or slots that are affecting it with the %/#'s they are affecting it by.
^^: Show the list of skills that are affecting it with the %/#'s they are affecting it by.
^^^: Show the list of stats that are affecting it with the %/#'s they are affecting it by.
Obviously, all of the above should also be added to the character dump.

Done things:
  • Done. Add Speed (boosts/slows) (I would suggest for -10% to write 10% faster, and for +10% to write 10% slower) with breakdown tooltip*
  • Done on sidebar, only life on Character Screen. Add Current Resource Regen (Mana Regen, Stamina Regen etc.) with a breakdown tooltips*
  • Done. Space resists so that the %'s are all beneath each other, not resist name : 5% (70% cap) but "tabbed" | write it as 5% (70% cap) Fire Resistance - Now you only have to make sure your x - xxx% is spaced correctly
  • Done. Lives remaining with a breakdown tooltip*
  • Done. Critical Damage % and Breakdown tooltip*

For #3, the format could be changed from:

Resist fire 19% (cap 70%)

to:

19% (cap 70%) Fire resistance.

Also, make it scrollable, or give it second page so you can see all of them.

Effects of resources maybe? Like, you have 834 mana, your mana regen is x.
You have 300 Paradox, you have a y% chance for your chronomancy spells to backfire, a y% chance for an anomaly, etc.

Would be in a mouseover tooltip for each resource.

I'd love to be able to see how how many lives I have left.

Example: 1 out of 3 lives remaining.

Base stats, as in the "G" screen when leveling up.

Mouse over most effects to see their sources eg:
resist all 53% (+12% Cursed Body, +7% Constitution, +18% equipment, +16% pain suppression)

Nice suggestion! (though the base stats are there)

1. I often wonder what my combined critical damage % is. I don't think this is displayed, but I could be wrong.

2. I often play with stdout refreshing the whole time, to study damage and the effects of multipliers and critical hits etc. More of this in the main screen would be great. Perhaps as an option?

3. With some classes, you can have more cooldowns than 12, so more than fit on the bottom right corner if you map them to one set of keys. It would be great to see all of these at once. There is nothing words than forgetting about a particular magical effect you can use because there are so many at times.

I think it does, but please explain what you mean with "combined critical"?

This would be in-game not the character screen. Ie. as the output comes out, display it as the stdout.txt does.

Yes, also not a character screen request, but I've requested that the talent screen be a scrollable window instead of "pages" before. Dunno if that is in the pipe-line.

Weapons of ruin, jewelry of murder, etc will add to critical damage. Two daggers of ruin and a voratun amulet of murder would prolly be near or over +40% critical damage, combined. As it stands there's no way to see what your critical damage modifier is except in stdout... I think.

I think they do add to total... but either way, if one shows they all do... But I think this (as well as the resist part) will need a big rewrite to support deciphering the total back to it's parts.

Critical damage starts at 150% and can be increased. I would like to know this value.

See invisible
Invisibility
Stealth Power
Maximum Vision Range (affected by Higher racial)
Mouseover of Fatigue changed to be context-sensitive for the resources you have, (eg + mana cost, + paradox fail rate, nothing for equilibrium)
If adding Light radius/infravision radius/Dark Vision information, show what stacks with each other, and in what ways.

I'm not sure Paradox failure rates etc. should be that transparent. If the consensus is that they should be I'd add it to the mouseover tooltip for the paradox resource rather then the character sheet so it doesn't take up real estate it doesn't need too.
