1) Equilibrium bar isn't filling up. That's helpful for telling at a glance if its meditation time. bug in this version?
2) up the contrast between walls, unexplored terrain and ground: especially in the forest it can be hard to tell where everything is.
3) default target (at least for summons) is the last tile you were standing on when using a target skill (if no monsters in view). Especially after taking the stairs this can be far away, and if you aren't using the mouse its a pain to navigate back to yourself. Default to current tile instead?
4) clicking on the x in the menu bar brings you back to the start menu: that's fine for the choice in the menu I get pressing escape, but if the player clicks the x, that means they want the application to close.

Game is progressing very well, these were just a few unexciting polish items that would help remove little frustrations.

2) right, minimap, should have specified that. You mean you can't read minds too?

It's hard to say what, exactly, the minimap needs. Partially, it can get a little busy at times (highlighted walls, highlighted floors mixed with darkened ones when you're looking into a room). The color difference between illuminated and unilluminated floors also adds more extraneous patterns for your mind to quickly parse: maybe color all floor identically, regardless of whether it's a lit room or a darkened hallway (having it colored when it's in view of you is certainly useful, but less so for distant illuminated locations). And in fact, if you lost the illuminated out of view ground color, that'd make it easier to darken up the unseen wall gray to differentiate with the parchment background color.

Of course, everybody's monitor displays slightly different, so your mileage may vary.

Minimap also needs stairs more clearly differentiated. At the moment it's easy to get lost trying to find them.

On the display side of things, I would suggest that the number that appears on top of item piles should be moved to the top of the item icon, as currently it can be hidden by walls.
