ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

How hard would it be to only switch your Weapon when switching weapons and keep your Shield.

Would have to check that:
1) The secondary weapon being switched to is one-handed
2) The secondary shield being switched to is empty.

Perhaps it would be easiest to have two commands for switching instead of one.
x) Switch Main Hand
z) Switch Off Hand

Thoughts?

It'd open up some options but also cost an extra turn to switch a weapon and a shield out at once (but maybe it should?)

It kinda makes sense, but for single slot swaps you can just use the 'w'ield command, if you keep the weapon in your inventory that is.
I dunno, I thought the switching of weapons was to turn the 2 turns of 'w'ielding into 1, in case you wanted to swap both weapons.

Of course, having an item unequipped makes it prone to get sold accidentally, but in that case I'd prefer to have an option to lock certain items to avoid have them sold or dropped by mistake.
