ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

There is currently mention of a reward from the elder of Last Hope for keeping the staff, but I can't see anything in the Lua files to give a reward. I suggest a randart be given, but with the player getting to choose the item type and theme, thus showing off a little the power of the randart system. Wouldn't have to be a powerful artifact, but it would be fun for the player to get to try it out. The artifact could also be named after the player, if possible. Text would be something like this:


"I am truly astonished by your strength; surviving that encounter was an epic feat. As a token of gratitude for your actions I can offer you the services of our royal smiths and mages in creating an artifact in your honour. What sort of item would you like?"

e. bow
f. suit of armour
g. helm
h. gloves
i. boots
j. cloak
k. ring
l. amulet

"Very well. What sort of power would you like it to be imbued with?"

"As you wish. Here, I present thee with <randname> <itemtype> of <playername>! Use it well! Now, as for the orcs, it is deeply troubling..."

If there's a reward then there's nothing in the lua code I can see about it. At least not in the conversation back in the city - if the reward is something different then that conversation needs to be changed.

Agreed, the reward conversation occurs but you get nothing!
