Seasons for the world map and towns

This is a purely decorative idea with the purpose on increasing world immersion. Depending on the time of the years the coloration of the land will vary. At least in temperate regions. So in winter season the landscape will have a white hue. In the spring a pale green hue. In the summer a vibrant green hue. In the later part of autumn a brown hue. Affects both the world map and towns. Can be extended by lakes and rivers being covered by white ice in the winter season.

The player may or may not live long enough to notice a change in the seasons. But if the starting date of the year is randomized then starting season will vary from game to game.

This would be fun to see, but I'd say it's low-priority...however, something that would make it more important for me would be if seasons had (slight)mechanical effects, say some animals could show up less or more often.
But I guess that could be too much detail...
