There is a lot of undeveloped screen real estate to the left of the map. It currently contains some, but not all, of the info you get from pressing C.

Since there is space, particularly if using a compact form with abbreviations, how about having all the info there?

Ykes... that many abbreviations would make my brain bleed (honestly, I already hate the compact way stats are shown now).
I'd rather put there gigantic versions of that tiny buttons we already have at the middle bottom for inventory, talent list, journal, etc...

These buttons could be made bigger where they are. Probably better to have buttons for the mouse close to the center in order to minimize mouse movements.

Abbreviations you will learn quickly.

Anyway, if nothing else it would be useful to also show your current and max encumberance values regardless of if more C info is added.

Agree for the encumbrance, and for heaven's sake, current ammo number! (now that we have also to scroll down to reach the quiver thingy, it is even more of a nuisance).

The same for alchemists and gems!

I think would be useful to have the other C info also. Often when you cast spells or use talents you increase some ability such as defense, armor, criticals, saves, damages, hit chance, and so on. But you get no feedback so you do not feel like anything is happening. With the number on screen would you would see that something is happening and also immediately understand how large the effect it for your character.

I definitely don't want too much info on the screen. Would look horrible. It's only one key-click away, so keep it hidden away! Most of those stats are fairly arbitrary anyway, with little real sense to the player.

Ammo and encumbrance are a bit more handy to see though.

As an idea, spell casters could see the recharge turns of their recent active spells, Identify, Phase door, Illuminate etc..

I like the idea of ammo and encumbrance being visible but honestly the rest I don't mind pressing C for and that includes the stat info (but that's just me).

Spell countdowns are not shown for non hotkeyed spells, and in the middle of a fight I would prefer to see who I am up against than the spell list.

You can always flip it to look, or, you know, wait until the green letters float to tell you.

I agre that certain information I would love to see on the left side fo the map, but too much information will make it uselessly unreadable, in my opinion. And I'm guessing we would each disagree about what the most important pieces of info would be. In my dream, we could drag info into that section, but I am betting that would be way too hard to code.

No one seems to have objected to showing encumberance and ammo/gems for alchemists.

True! I doubt either ammo or gems would be of any use to the average magician or fighter though.
