DoomElf not unlocking

Hello,
I've gone mad the last 40 hours if my life trying to get Doomelf on Nightmare Rouglike since that's the furthest I want to go down before the game loses it's rouglike.
Well it didn't work and I just wasted time so I decided to try Normal Exploration since I've seen people do that and guess what? I killed all three of those basterds and I've yet to get the achievement so what gives? The achievement exist on exploration but yet I got nothing. What do I even do?
