Transfer chars across computers?

Hey folks,
Anyone know of a way to transfer characters across machines? It's probably impossible, as it kinda messes with the rogue-like base of ToME, but I figure it's worth asking

Simply copy the save folders from the main tome folder.
Depending on your machine, on Windows it would be under "C:\Users\<your_username>\T-Engine\4.0\tome\save", 1 folder for 1 character.
This save folder's location is the same whether you play the TE4 version or the Steam version.
I don't remember exactly where it will be saved on Linux machines but something in the order of "/home/<your_username>/T-Engine/4.0/tome/save" or similar.
