ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Hello there, I enjoy Tales and the Possessor class, but there is one aspect of it that really irritates me. If a possesor POSSES a body, shouldnt be able to use all the specifics of the body aswell? I mean, if I own a monster who wields a shield, I ought to be allowed to employ talents that are related to shields as well, right? Do you know whether there is a mod that can modify this fact or if I missed some talents? I appreciate your time.
