Lake Nur: the only part of the game I hate

I hate Lake Nur. I hate the Weirding Beast.
It's a section of the game that's important to get through and yet the difficulty scales up obscenely. I have played through this game hundreds of times and I've definitely been "one shot" more often in Lake Nur than any other place in the game. It's incredibly frustrating and quite frankly makes no sense. Only the most OP classes can venture in there early (on any difficulty above normal) and even then, the chance of instant death is high. Perhaps even worse are the infinite "dream seeds" that sometimes show up... so perfect, insanely dangerous enemies combined with the potential for being put to sleep every turn. Seriously, why is that ONE dreaming horror can spawn dream seeds over the entire level like a damn hailstorm?
And then combine it with the air shortage... I'm sorry but that's just punitive. The Sandworm Lair is a model example of "deadly mechanic OR deadly enemies" but not both.
I can't, for the life of me, figure out who thought it was a good idea to combine a shortage of air, a staggeringly difficult boss, enemies that hit at range, blind and put to sleep (!!!! with the air shortage?), cause magical darkness, and so on... it's just not a very fun dungeon and I hate, hate, hate it.
And then it ends with the worst boss in the entire game. I hate bone shield and whomever redesigned it deserves to be punched in the kidneys. It makes no sense (I can't tell you how many times I've hit such that it should have triggered and didn't) and recovers too fast. The Weirding Beast can go right to hell.
I'm not advocating getting rid of it or anything... but I just wanted to vent my frustration at it.
