ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Hi folks,

after some month of quite heavy playing, I opted for buying the game plus the addons on gog.com.

No I have some issues getting it to work.
I am behind some tightly set firewall, so I need the url of the tome-server and it't port number to make use of the auto-update and online vaults.

I managed to find the following in game/game/profile-thread/Client.lua:
local metaport = 2240
local profilehost = "profiles.te4.org"
local mport = debug and 2259 or 2257
local pport = debug and 2260 or 2258

After adjustment the game still failes to create an account or update. It's still version 1.7.0. Manually copying things from the free download seemingly works, but causes trouble. For example the free possessor bonus class becomes permanently disabled, something which was to be expected, I guess.

How to address this correctly?

I also noticed, that while trying to create an account via the game, I am asked to give a key, which gog.com should ship along with the purchase. I didn't get such a key and wasn't able to find it on gog.com, neither in my profile there or with any email.

I posted this issues in the 'dumb questions' sub-forum, which I assume wasn't very bright either.

I'm not sure how gog delivers keys nowadays but they should.. if you dont find it you should contact their support as I can't really act on their behalf :/

As for upgrading, just download 1.7.2 from gog no? It should be available there nearly at the same time as on te4.org & steam nowadays

I managed to find the keys now, which reside in the least expected place, I would have searched for it. So I was able to create a profile as well.

As for the version issue, I just checked at gog.com, but they still have only version 1.7.0 for download, for both Windows and Linux.

Yeah I've contacted gog about that, no reply yet :/
