Planning on making a game using tome concepts, is that ok?

Just recently I've gotten into using RPG maker. Tales of Maj'Eyal is perhaps my favorite rpg game in no small part due to the unique classes in the game such as Solipsist. I want to create a game borrowing some class concepts/skill names and I will also want to use the "lore" system in this game by having many journals scattered around the world. Would this be ok? Just running it by DarkGod before I start making it (I'm still in just the planning stage now) to make sure it's all right with him. The game will not be commercial and I will also mention Tales of Maj'Eyal in the credits section. I will also not use any of Tales of Maj'Eyal music.

Amusingly, the music might be the least potentially troubling bit.

In any case, while asking is definitely polite, T4 is mostly licensed under GPL3.0 -- more or less open season for whoever (though it's a bit more complicated than that). Check that out, make sure whatever you're intending to do is okay by it, and you're not likely to have a problem.

E: ... though to make sure there's no confusion, I'm not related to the dev group more or less at all. Just sharing some fairly basic info.

Naturally, get Darkgod's okay first, but here's my 2 cents.

It also depends just how you implement this. If you just copy and paste the Solipsist class, that would be Not Cool <tm>. Even if the mechanics are the same, it would be good form to make your own unique lore and names.
