Poison questions

Hello!

I have a dagger with +15 insidious poison
I hit a ghoul in a newbie cave (night mare) and he gets poisoned.
I back away and see him beeing poisoned for 8 times and he looses 2 life every turn.

Does this mean that if I hit a monster with a +15 insidious poison dagger, he loses 15 life in a certain number (here 8) number of moves?
Suppose I hit him a second time? Will he be poisoned again? If he is, do the two poisons stack?
What determines how many moves the poison is spread over?

Tom

The indicated damage is spread over 7 turns.
It can be reapplied. The duration is refreshed, but the damage do not stack. Only regular poison has a stacking effect.

There's a little more to it. Insidious poisons tend to hamper healing effectiveness as well as doing the damage listed. This means against a mob that likes to heal, that 2 damage a round can mean a huge difference, depending on the % of healing it interferes with. From my experience, I've seen from 10-57% that I can remember right now. No reason to believe that's as high or low as it goes, but even a 30% reduction on a 200 point heal is effectively 60 damage more than is listed.
