How far are we from 1.5?

I'm asking mainly because IIRC, savefiles are going to be broken by this update, so it's worth asking in case I want to do a long game:
How far are we from 1.5? In particular, are we waiting on some more reworks, or are we waiting on testing?
Thanks

Have to throw in that I haven't started a game of ToME because I'm waiting on version 1.5 (since it has been teased). I'm interested in getting my Doomelf Demonologist up and running

unless there are some changes to the engine, i am pretty sure you can just have both .team files in the module folder, and simply pick one in game.
i mean, the selectin is for something right

…Okay, are we just having fun here, or do you guys have inside knowledge? `Coz I've got a T2 module release ready to go, but if 1.5 is imminent, I'll hold off.

I doubt it; both .team's would have the same short_name, so they'd probably step on each other in the engine's modules list.

... that said, it shouldn't take more than like four or five seconds to just change the short name, heh. Don't think it'd take much more than that, but if it did something like notepad++ could just fix it with a find in file+replace. Pretty sure it wouldn't be much of a roadblock, basically, ehehe.

checked.
Dumped the content of one module folder, into another.
Tome launched without trouble.
when i clicked "new game" the module selection opens.
At first, only the "newest" (i do not have 1.4.9) appeared, but selecting "show incompatible" also showed the other version as distinct. from the "newest".
Although i did have to select "show incompatible".
Why was that important again...
ah right. you can continue playing your older version, even after getting 1.5 se feel free to start one. unless its an LP one, then you have to wait.

I find your lack of faith in DarkGod's engine.... disturbing.

Man, I got a lot of faith in DG's engine, but I also occasionally open the message log in game and scroll up

My faith in DarkGod's engine is irrelevant. This is about Savefile compatibility. Given that we have several major class reworks coming in 1.5, I strongly doubt 1.5 will be savefile compatible with 1.4. If savefiles are compatible, then I'll happily start a new game; I just want to know "how much effort should I put in".

Beta take time anyway and beta is not yet out so ..
Also, yes the engine can handle multiple versions of the same module just fine, and taht's exactly what it's doing when on a new major version it asks to download the previous module to play old savefiles (unless the engine itself chagned so much it's not compatible but taht's ultra rare)
