What a nice view

Burb is somewhere there in the middle, also harkor-zun outside of the image

There was also a solipsist gunslinger randboss that almost killed me at the entrance of the level, so all in all a pretty neat regular daikara level

Is this Madness difficulty?

Could be, but as far as I'm aware that can happen on pretty much any difficulty. Even on normal, every once in a while daikara's monster generator decides it's not nearly drunk enough for your crap and calls up a maj'eyal wide kegger party, and so you get about half the open spaces on the map stuffed with entirely too packed in visitors that are very much angry drunks and not happy at all that you didn't bring the nachos.

It's oddly nostalgic, honestly. When there's enough boulder throwers involved, it's like I'm back in ToME 2 days and someone forgot to put the walls or a door around that zephyr pit.

The best fun is when it's also an escort level, and the portal is on the other side of them :V

This is a great example of why I have to play with the ascii character set instead of the tiles. I have no freaking idea what's going on in that picture!

Ehehe. Feel yeh. I know what's going on (that particularly daikara configuration is hard to forget after the first two or three times it happens to you), but I have no clue what most of those things are. Usually it's a massive swath of murderous alphabet vomit spread across significant portions of my screen.

E: Though for older time's sake, here's a lesser dreadfell equivalent:

... don't actually know if that can still happen, though. Only had it happen to me like maybe 3 times in the entirety of the time I've played T4. The daikara thing is a lot more common, comparatively.

The stairs can definitely still be in a monster pit.

e: extra fun in high peak when there's no upstair and all of those are wyrms
