How do you manage the mana cost of magical combat?

In mid to end game, the procs of spell easily cost 40 mana per turn, how do you manage that cost in a long battle?

Manasurge Rune and Shock Hands. Also helps that you kill things in two turns.

You could try having less fatigue?
