How good is Bloodcaller?

Since seeing it strongly recommended all the way to end game for a Berserker, I feel like I can't take it off with my Marauder...

Do you guys keep it on with your melee types? What could tempt you to switch it out? Anything I've got in inventory? I've been eyeballing a ring of misery for the gloom and bleed (works with Bloody Butcher...) Or if I save up another 4k after doing some Farportaling I might go back and get an art ring made...

Bloodcaller heals you for an average of 4.5% of the damage you deal before healmod is applied. Observe your typical damage output and compare it to life regen at that ratio.

If needing healing isn't your biggest weakness, something else would be more useful.

I've got a heal infusion for 354, and Heroism for -837, plus Unstoppable, but life of only 1263 (boosted to over 1450 once I start hitting things...)
On level 10 of High Keep now, so moot point for this character unless you guys think I have a real gem in inventory...
Edit: Yeah, I kept Bloodcaller. Final battle was a breeze, Evandar slowed 90% (about half my speed) and with all effects hitting, crippled, blind, some illness, etc, down in about 6 turns. I'm not sure any of my on-hit effects worked on the other boss, but my hp never dropped below 1200, I guess I was never targeted. All done in 15 or so rounds. Thuggery, Momentum, and Weapons Mastery are a great combo. Hardly used Unstoppable this game, and didn't use Draconic Will once. My first win (and 2nd trip to the top) since I started playing again a few weeks ago, much easier than I remember my win 3 years ago with a Temporal Warden. Did go back to town an get an art ring made in case I feel the infinite dungeon calling me, nice misery ring as I'd hoped for.
