What race/class combo got you your first win, on whatever difficulty settings you might find tolerable?

I did a Shalore Temporal Warden, it was neat I suppose

Higher Summoner, normal adventure

Halfling Brawler on Normal/Adventure. I've had lots of fun with this character.

I got 3 wins and my two first was done the same day, Skeleton Archer and Thelore Oozemancer. Since then my only other win is Ghoul Doombringer

Thalore Doomed (Normal/Adv). It was a different time, a different place.

Halfling Doomed was my first winnner, on Normal/Adventurer. Won the final battle on my last life. Every now and then I consider trying a Doomed on Insane, just as an experiment. Then I drink heavily until that thought goes away.

thaloren\solipsist when solipsist was overpowered, it was almost cheating.

First real win was with ghoul\berserker.

Dwarf Berserker, normal adventure

I've only had 4 more wins since then, 2 normal roguelike, 1 more adventure, then nightmare adventure

Dwarf Zerker, which according to statistics popups is among the most popular setups.

I wanted a simple, straightforward melee to learn the game with. It worked out pretty well.

Thalore Oozemancer. I unlocked the Oozemancer by dying 6 times and unlocking it one turn before dying. Such a strong class

yes, if you know how to, you can clear entire vaults with an oozemancer, without even taking a single point of damage.

Shadowblade Staff/Light Mage build on Nightmare. It was so easy on normal I got bored and started over on NM.

I... don't remember. Was some point way back in the dark days well before autoexplore... pretty sure there were a couple before the vault was implemented. Earliest I'm seeing I made a victory post about on the forum was a higher warden, near as I can tell, back in b23 (so somewhere in 2011). Earliest I'm seeing in the vault is a thalore mindslayer, about 4 1/2 years back... looks like b21, maybe? If I had to guess, I'd wager my first win was either a 'zerker or a mindslayer, but no clue about the race. Thalore or dwarf, maybe? Maybe shalore, there were a couple elfzerkers in there somewhere that managed a win...

Difficulty would have been normal/adventure. I basically don't play anything else, and the only times I can recall really sticking with any easy games were infinite dungeon muckarounds.

Mine was somewhere in v1.2 series with a Thalore Bulwark on normal/adventure.

I chose Bulwark for my first win because my early characters were mainly Bulwarks and they got way further than most of my subsequent characters, even though I was clueless at that point about how to build characters properly, which order to do zones in, etc.
